English is a universal language made from and by the united states of America. Along the way, English has been influenced to many countries like England, new Zealand and Singapore. The English has been distorted along the way, that's why there is different pronunciations of English.Well, in Singapore, its called Singlish. There had been a situation that shows the extent of our singlish.
Two days ago, a blonde women ,looked like she's from the western side, maybe American, in her mid 30s, board a SBS bus. She looked foreign.I was sitting at the back of the bus. She sat in the front. There is a poster of Singapore's local Tv show phua chu kang. She read it and looked disappointed. She cant understand the poster because of local slangs like "Sleep? Dun pretend... Let those who need this seat lah". Then the women complained to the bus driver about the poster but the bus drive cant understand what she was talking about. What the heck?
